Statement of Faith
Scripture
We believe the Holy Bible—Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the final rule for faith and practice. It is truthful in all it affirms and sufficient for salvation, life, and godliness.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, sovereign, all-knowing, all-powerful, loving, and just.
Humanity & Sin
We believe all people are created in God’s image with inherent dignity, yet through Adam’s fall and our own sin are separated from God and subject to death and judgment. We are unable to save ourselves.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, truly God and truly man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for our sins, rose bodily on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Those who believe are justified, forgiven, born again by the Spirit, adopted into God’s family, and kept by God’s power for eternal life. Good works and obedience are the fruits—not the basis—of salvation.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates and indwells believers, seals them unto the day of redemption, and empowers them for holy living, service, and witness. He gifts every believer for the building up of the church.
The Church
We believe the universal Church consists of all believers in every age, and that the local church is Christ’s primary instrument on earth. A local church is a congregation of baptized believers who covenant together in the faith and fellowship of the gospel.
Ordinances (Baptist Distinctive)
Baptism: for believers only, by immersion, as a public testimony of faith and union with Christ. It is an ordinance, not a means of salvation.
The Lord’s Supper: a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice, practiced regularly by baptized believers as an act of worship, self-examination, and unity.
Church Governance (Baptist Distinctive)
We believe in the autonomy of the local church under the lordship of Christ and the authority of Scripture. The biblical offices are pastor/elder and deacon. Congregations are responsible before God for membership, discipline, and mission, and may voluntarily cooperate with like-minded churches for the work of the gospel.
Priesthood & Soul Liberty (Baptist Distinctive)
We believe in the priesthood of all believers—every Christian has direct access to God through Christ and responsibility to search the Scriptures and obey God’s will. We affirm religious liberty and the proper distinction between church and state.
Christian Living & Mission
We believe followers of Jesus are called to love God and neighbor; pursue holiness; practice justice, mercy, and humility; and proclaim the gospel to all peoples. Stewardship of time, talent, and treasure is an act of worship.
Last Things
We believe in the blessed hope—the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ; the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the final judgment; the everlasting joy of the redeemed in the presence of God; and the eternal separation of the unrepentant.
